One shoot day, four assets

This is what a content system actually means. Plan the deliverables before the shoot and the same day keeps paying out for months.

The main film

The story you planned the day around

A second story from the same day

A customer, a leader or a product, filmed with the crew already there

Short social cutdowns

Channel versions

The trade is simple: extra edits cost an edit fee, extra shoot days cost a shoot day. Planning them together is what keeps a project in the $9,000 to $13,500 range instead of doubling it.

How a project runs

Six steps, the same whether it is one film or a shoot day that feeds a quarter of content.

  1. Kickoff meeting to scope a video project

Why companies keep working with us

One team from brief to delivery

A producer owns the project end to end and feedback goes to one place. Outside Southern California we travel with our crew or hire crews we have worked with before.

Built for complex organizations

Approvals, tight schedules and people who have never been on camera. Healthcare systems and universities are most of what we do.

More usable material per shoot

We plan the cutdowns before the shoot, so one day produces the main film and the short versions your channels need.

Raw footage included

You keep the footage we shoot for you, at no extra cost.

Fixed estimates

You get a scoped number before we start, not an hourly meter.

Prices you can check

What does a full-service video production company do?

A full-service video production company handles the whole process: strategy and scripting, casting and locations, filming with a professional crew, editing, sound, color and captions, then delivery in the formats your channels need.

The expensive part of video is not the camera. It is deciding what the video has to say, getting the right people on camera and finishing it so it works where it runs.

1What do you get?

Finished videos in the formats you need, plus the raw footage at no extra cost.

2How long does it take?

About four weeks from kickoff to final delivery on most projects.

3What does it cost?

From $3,500 for a single local testimonial to $50,000 and up for a broadcast campaign.

Video production FAQ

How much does video production cost?

A typical project is $9,000 to $13,500, which covers pre-production, one shoot day, one fully edited film and two to three short cutdowns. A single local testimonial starts at $3,500 and multi-day campaigns run to $35,000 or more. The table above lists every service, or build your own estimate.

What exactly do I get for a typical project?

One fully edited film, two to three short cutdowns for social, captions and channel versions, and the raw footage. A second fully edited film from the same shoot adds an edit fee of $2,000 to $4,000 rather than another shoot day.

How do I choose the right type of video?

Start with the job: sell a product, prove it works, tell your story, teach something or hire someone. The service directory above is grouped that way, and a producer will tell you if a different format fits better.

How long does a project take, and what do you need from us?

About four weeks from kickoff. The two things that move the date are getting people scheduled for the shoot and getting feedback back on the first cut, so we agree both up front.

How many rounds of revisions are included?

Two rounds on the edit are standard: one after the first cut and one after the refinements. Bigger structural changes after approval are quoted before we start them.

Who owns the footage and the final video?

You do. You get the finished videos and the raw footage we shot for you, at no extra cost, with usage rights for the channels we scoped.

Can we get several deliverables from one shoot?

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to build a library. One shoot day usually yields a main film plus two to three cutdowns, and more if we plan the extra setups before the day.

Do you work with our marketing team or agency?

Both. We can run the creative from scratch or execute your concept and brand guidelines, and we are comfortable being one vendor among several on a campaign.

Where do you film, and do you travel?

We are based in Irvine with our own studio, film across Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego and the Bay Area, and travel nationwide. The Moonfare podcast above was filmed in New York.
